Course overview:

Despite significant improvement in preventative dentistry, we still see a large number of patients with failing or missing dentition. As dentition can fail for many reasons, their replacement must be carefully considered to address patient concerns while also addressing the underlying cause for teeth failure. Furthermore, there are numerous treatment options to discuss with our patients, including fixed vs. removable, teeth vs. implants supported. This can be a complex topic for the patient to understand and for the clinician to explain.

Questions that will be answered in this webinar include:

  • How to assess a patient who may be more complex to treat than it appears
  • How to utilise a visualised outcome approach during treatment planning to improve communication and treatment acceptance
  • Discuss most common causes for teeth failure
  • What are the removable partial denture options that are retained by teeth or implants? What are some uncommon techniques that can significantly improve the quality of these removable dentures and patient satisfaction?
  • What are the fixed partial denture options that are supported by teeth or implants? How to incorporate non-rigid connectors to improve bridge outcome? What are some tips on improving Maryland bridge outcome?
  • What are the removable full denture options that are retained by tissue or implants? How to improve retention for the dreaded full denture? How to easily construct an implant-retained overdenture? When should a bar-retained overdenture should be considered?
  • What are the pit falls in fixed full denture option that is supported by implants? What are some tips on improving predictability when constructing a full arch implant bridge?
